Poland shows an actively developing industry. The country's economy is on the rise, so it shows production at a high level, which is especially true for the production of machinery and equipment. It is the engineering industry that accounts for more than 50% of exports. The nomenclature is quite diverse: buses, aviation equipment, ships (cargo transportation, mining). Moreover, Polish enterprises produce products for the food industry, are engaged in the production of textiles, fuel, construction materials, fish products. Currently, Polish industry is oriented towards the Western European and Middle Eastern markets.
Warsaw is an important industrial city
In Warsaw are concentrated enterprises that play a significant role in the automotive industry, metallurgy, heavy engineering. Major factories produce cars of Toyota, Fiat, Opel and Volkswagen brands. First of all, we are talking about buses and trucks. The metallurgical industry developed in the capital for many years, which allowed it to reach the output of millions of tons of rolled products. It was modernization that played a key role in the development of Polish enterprises.
Heavy engineering brings billions of dollars to the capital, with a reorientation now taking place due to the demand for electrical and instrumentation engineering.
Warsaw's ecology is at an acceptable level for a large city. Often the capital suffers from smog, which is caused by motor vehicles rather than industrial plants. Local residents take advantage of the so-called "forest schools". This is a special measure that involves taking people out of the city in order to breathe fresh air. Local companies support the fight for ecology, for example, Coca-Cola plants promote waste sorting among the population and offer to give plastic bottles for recycling, which is willingly supported by the residents themselves.
Gdansk - booming industry
Gdansk is characterized by well-developed enterprises engaged in the production of non-ferrous metallurgy. The production of polymetallic products is well established, and non-ferrous metallurgy is also strongly developed. Heavy engineering is represented by companies producing railcars (freight and passenger). Companies engaged in the production of electrical engineering are located in Gdansk.
Shipbuilding is another important part of Gdansk's industry. It is also home to a large commercial seaport. There is a constant growth of specialized companies providing ship repair services. A distinctive feature of Gdansk private enterprises is a significant increase in the cost of ship construction. At the end of the 20th century the average cost of repair was not more than 4 $ per one kilogram of the total weight of the ship. Now this mark has reached 20$. Polish ship repair and shipbuilding yards are famous for sailing boats, yachts, which are bought by wealthy representatives of European countries.
The ecology of Gdansk is at a good level. Powerful industry does not affect the comfort of residents. City panoramas directly indicate that Gdansk is a green city. The authorities actively invest in maintaining the environment, take care of the beaches, the residents themselves actively maintain the cleanliness of the streets.
Poznan is a powerful manufacturing center
Poznan specializes in metallurgy, heavy engineering and is an important transportation hub. The enterprises of ferrous metallurgy and heavy engineering have achieved significant production rates. Here they produce machine tools, various equipment used in factories, machinery for ships and airliners. The ecology of Poznan does not suffer from industrial Poznan's ecology is not affected by industrial enterprises, but a chemical storage warehouse located near the city poses a significant environmental threat. In particular, in 2014 there was a leak of potassium bromide, the vapors of which could get into nearby water bodies.
Poland's industry is based not only on the production of machinery and rolled metal products. Pharmaceuticals, for example, occupy a leading place in the country's economy. A great emphasis is placed on generics, which are medicines that have the same composition as the original, but are cheaper for the consumer, as the manufacturer does not need a patent. Already now the turnover of pharmaceuticals in Poland has exceeded 9 billion euros.
Cement is produced in the Opolskie region, accompanied by the Świętokrzyskie and Cholmskie regions. All three produce a combined 85% of the country's cement. Poland is known in Europe as a producer of glass and glassware. The enterprises producing them are located in Boleslavets and Stronie-Sląsk.
Fish production is actively carried out. Every year 400 thousand tons of fish products are caught.
The phenomenon of the "Polish miracle" is compared to the phenomenon of China. Even the world crisis of 2008 did not significantly affect the economy of the country. At the same time, there is a concern for the environment, which is extremely important for all countries that are increasing their industrial turnover.
